One of the skills you need as a politician is to know when NOT to say something, even if it's correct.

On second thought, maybe he isn't a politician after all.

I think every member of the DU UK forum would agree that the Olympic preparation was pretty incompetent.

Nonetheless, it was hardly diplomatic of dear Mitt, and one wonders what his agenda was.

Barack Obama is perhaps the only politician who could start a trip that was supposed to be a charm offensive by being utterly devoid and "extremely" offensive. . . .to the extent of potential cries for War!

I mean really... what a dufus. He spends so much time backtracking on what he says, they should install a rewind button in his voice box.

He is not qualified to be President. It was a fluke and a lot of money that got him over the finish line in the primaries. He had NO fans, no rallying crowds, he simply was the nastiest, most funded, and the least crazy, in the bunch.

No one can convince me that anyone, outside of Wall Street and the Mormon Church, is actually FOR that guy.

Barclays told to stop fundraising for Mitt Romney:

Executives at Barclays have reportedly donated more than $1m (£645,000) to US Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney's election campaign.

They are set to hand over more this evening at fundraising dinner in a secret Mayfair location, where tickets cost between $50,000 and $75,000, according to the Guardian.

An early-day motion (EDM) signed by 11 MPs last week demanded the bank and its directors stop working to bolster Mr Romney's election campaign and concentrate on repairing confidence in the banking system.

British banks, like Barclays, are still reeling from the LIBOR scandal.

. . . nor some Sultan of an exotic Middle Eastern country. No, Mittens manages to offend the Prime Minister of our closest ally -- a fellow conservative even. This certainly bodes well for future diplomatic efforts (should he be elected) . . .

I get the feeling he really doesn't care if the hoi polloi like him; and politicians are included in that.
It is the people he is dining with behind closed doors tonight who are important to him.

Awhile ago, it suddenly occurred to me that this guy Mitt Romney reminds me of that office manager on "The Office" who keeps putting his foot in his mouth.
