Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.”
So God created mankind in his own image,
in the image of God he created them;
male and female he created them.

God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground. "

Genesis 1:26-28

We are to rule over the earth, not destroy it.

Imagine if the primitive people who made up the creation tale had made the entire world God's garden instead of some obscure place called Eden. Imagine if their God character had commanded all of mankind to take good care of his garden so that it would last for an eternity. If they had written it that way, given that people who believe that tale are largely in charge today, we'd be a lot better off.

that many conservatives don't believe that man can destroy our world.

If that were the case, then their vested interest in eternal life and gaining as much profit as they can, without regard to their fellow human beings, is put in jeopardy

having any excuse for their greed and entitlement chipped away at....well, they won't put up with that crap at all.

I am pretty damn sure god meant for you to take care of and love what he gave you. I do not think he meant for you to destroy earth by polluting it, destroying the creatures he created, and stripping the land of all natural resources. Doesn't it say something about "you reap what you sow?" Well, when you do all of those things mentioned your reaping is going to be bad and more than likely kill everything. Is that what your god wants you to do? If that is what he wanted you to do then he would have said "destroy all that I blessed you with." But then again I am just a heathen Buddhist according to you and do not know a damn thing.

I guess they could be onto something. I'm surprised all the scientists never thought of this easy and free solution...just pray and everything will be fine and dandy.
