When Coats & Rogers refused to answer whether Trump had asked them to try to shut down the investigation. Sanders and Franken would have dismantled them.

3. There are many paths to heaven

My theory of Religion is this.

If there is a heaven, there are many paths to that Kingdom.

My theory goes like this. Draw a circle in the middle of a piece of paper. Draw pathways, or roadways, to that circle. Each pathway represents a religion. Christian, Jew, Muslim, Hindu, etc. Maybe 10 or 12 paths. None of them intersect. So, each pathway is the only way an adherent to that particular religion knows is the correct way into Heaven. Yet, in reality, they are all correct ways in. Treat others with respect. Help the poor. All the same general philosophy. None is wrong, if followed correctly.

Then there are those, like me, that don't even know if the circle on the piece of paper exists, but that believes that all the basic philosophies of each religion still teaches what I believe, that we are all one and need to respect each other, heal the sick, feed the hungry, help the poor and leave the planet better than when we found it.

Anyone who condemns another for believing differently than they do is a bigot. And there is no place in American Government for a bigot.

there are those in the Republican party who prefer oil, and those who prefer armageddon and oil, or just armageddon.

Either way that has been their set of goals for years.

Now they are perfectly poised to steal oil and/or start their onslaught on Israel.

Whether in-directly or "accidently."

I've heard the born-agains talking about how Israel must be destroyed for jeebus to come back, and they really mean it.

Terrifying. According to these batshit nut jobs, the Great Commission must be completed for Christ to come back. And that includes Israel being converted.

7. Separation of "Church" and State...

I've watched most of the video, and I don't know the full context of this. Did a quick Google search, found this:

http://www.npr.org/sections/thetwo-way/2017/06/09/532116365/is-it-hateful-to-believe-in-hell-bernie-sanders-questions-prompt-backlash

After a skim through this, it's made me think.

It does appear that Vought was writing a theological piece. Also the traditional view of Christianity is that if you do not believe that Jesus is the son of God, then you do not get eternal salvation (New Testament, John 14:6). However that end salvation part happens at death. What happens after death is unknown to us and since it's a one way trip I'm not going to try and find out.

I suppose the real question should have been "are you able to keep your religious life separate from your professional working life?" Religion can exclude. Government has to include everyone and treat everyone equal irrespective of religion abd a whole host of things.

I don't know if Mr. Vought could be labelled a bigot, or religious bigot. However, he certainly appears to be religiously dogmatic.

Sanders can ask any questions he likes, and vote up or down based on any or no reason whatsoever. It does come close to a religious test, but if one espouses certain religious dogma then he is perfectly entitled to question the person's ability to separate their religion from matters involving the state.
