I have definitely heard this before....warning: Cringeworthy.

1. "You're Chinese? I love sushi!"

I have heard this,

and my girlfriend and I get stares as well. She is American, her family came from Japan over 50 years ago but no she is still "Japanese " in people's eyes.

Despite the fact she has the most Bostonian accent you'll hear in your life.

2. Yeah me too...

But then on line, most people are always asking me, "What are you?" I was born in America, I am part Japanese and Hawaiian, and people say to me, "Oh, you are too dark to be Japanese!"

3. I come from a very mixed family so when I'm hanging out with relatives in public

I hear it all. Some of it I can forgive - some people do lead very sheltered lives and don't mean harm and aren't familiar ..they can't help but ask questions and are polite. They're just curious. ..but many more are just assholes.

I'm black and my gf is Asian american so we've gotten our fair share of crap.

On another note...if he goes into acting I can't see why he couldn't have a great career in it. And he's cute!!
