From one of those who covered the DAPL protests in North Dakota.
As thousands of protesters seek shelter in Hamburg ahead of the G20, a hundred or so of these protesters attempted to set up a camp near Wohlers Park.
As meals were being served, the police showed up in mass, took the tents that were set up, and began punching, kicking, and pepper spraying the crowd.
I haven't seen any footage on TV. Yet, one can't ignore this.

(12,858 posts)I saw what I was told were border guards looking this scary lined up at the city hsll. They were there because of a massive 'bike in!' People rode bikes to the large plaza in front of city hall to show the need for better and safer bike-ways in the city.

Just's like the Koch's are trying to do here with the repeal of the "blue slip" that a senator can invoke to put a hold on a nominee, if they are , lets say "extreme".................... so that courts can't be packed

(19,201 posts)as the week wears on. I'm sure the police looked at this as a 'warm-up' for the REAL hostility that will take place later in the week. Like this wasn't hostile enough?
You have to hand it to these protestors. They KNOW what's going to happen, but are committed enough to the cause that they're willing to suffer the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune(s) in order to combat the inequality in the world.
Bravo, protestors!

(3,847 posts)especially by Angela. She should know better and she needs to slap the Nacho Nazi around. Maybe one of his "advisors' will notice the European/Japanese trade deal that just came down the pipes. Wishful thinking but Angelea needs to let this protest go on and stop acting like America.
Takes a real tough guy to beat on an old man and pepper spray him. Did they bring these thugs over from America?
