1. are the black couple a member of this congregation
2. Does this church marry white couples who are not members of this congregation?

On its face, it sounds racist, but if this couple never formally joined this church and have never tithed their 10%, then I can see it from a financial thing that one would have to be a dues paying member in order to use the facilities. However, if the couple intimated that they were going to join the church and they have given their 10% over, then this being cowed by a few whiners who can be told to stay home if they don't like it.

I'm struck by how ambivalent and acquiescent the pastor is about having racists sitting up in his church--like that's ok or something, but a black couple getting married isn't. talk about mental illness...

That church is like one I attended once. A few members got angry because I was one part of a mixed race couple who wanted to attend that church. It was a predominantly white church. A few black couples. Long story on how I ended up there. But I thought I could trust the pastor and the couple of friends I thought I had there. No one stood up for me when they asked us not to come to their church as a couple. One could sit on one side and the other on the other side during services but not together. It was a Baptist church of the southern baptist(racist) congregation. I have never trusted american christianity from that day on.American religion just makes me shake my head in disgust. Good christians my ass.

"to divide, kill and destroy" is the goal of the one they claim their god has vanquished. Seems as if the vanquished one has no problem with groupies.

About the church and its having "some racists" are apparently married to each other (both had the last name Mack).

the Racists of the time thought black people were nothing but animals with no soul and it was an abomination to even have them enter a church.

Nice to see Obama has inspired some old time religion in post-racial Amerikkka.

---There are too many churches today that are willing to compromise for the sake of appeasing the trendy left (e.g. teaching that all routes lead to God, in contradiction to John 14:6), but it is clear that this church has shown it does not care: - the world hates God and so should not be appeased. Full credit to any church that is completely unwilling to come to some sort of arrangement with the world. When it comes to the church's lack of willingness to appease the world, I would say this makes them my kind of people.

---It's absolutely GREAT that the First Baptist Church of Crystal Springs, MS. is maintaining the church's tradition. JUST CAUSE it's 2012, people think it's wrong to maintain the close-minded views of race. It's NOT a bad thing to maintain a tradition...in this case, NO (coloreds) married there since the church's founding. ***NOTE***If you are BLACK and live in the deep SOUTH...that's how things will ALWAYS be!! Deal with it, or LEAVE the south!! DUH!!*** My PRAISES to the pastor of that WONDERFUL church, for not caving in to the "public hype".
