Caligula's horse Incitatus was said to have its own slaves who fed it oats mixed with gold flake and a stable of marble and an ivory manger. Suetonius wrote that Caligula even seriously considered making his horse a Roman Consul. The horse even had dinners in Caligula's palace and had invitations sent to Roman dignitaries in its name. I don't know if Romney is quite that decadent yet.
