I've never seen this guy, but thanks for the warning!

And he couldn't have a more appropriate name.

...and ESPN2 was in Spanish.

I think he was there for the Spanish coverage and for some reason they brought him over to the English channel for that. I'm sure he was just fine doing his Spanish coverage.

The woman, Beth Mowins, is just one tiny step down from Chris Collinsworth as being the most obnoxious "color commentator" on TV. Collingsworth has a bit more inflection in his voice when reading the teleprompter but that doesn't cover the fact that he just never shuts up. Mowins does the same thing without the voice inflections. God I wish they would shut the fuck up sometimes. I know they are just repeating what comes up on the computer screens in front of them but couldn't ESPN just put a pause in there every once in a while? And yes, I do mute the sound a lot. I would like it more if they reported it like high school/college AM radio reports. Instead of listening to Mowins yammering five minutes about a miss pass, how it was thrown, where the laces were, how many times it spiraled, it's axis in relation to true north, on and on... Just say the pass was thrown and missed by whomever. Done! We have eyes. We know what happened. We don't need to know the receiver's third cousin. Yes, I am going on and on... The commentators just make it worse most of the time.

She's done college football for awhile now and she's been good. She's certainly a hell of a lot better than Chris Berman.

And you are wrong about Collinsworth. You realize he's not using a teleprompter aside from maybe when he's doing the "stand-ups" at the beginning or halftime, right?

I often watch early morning ESPN games and she usually covers the Big Ten games and agree she is good.

They have a bunch of suits who come up with these brilliant ideas and end up embarrassing themselves. I'm sure the guy was fine on the Spanish broadcast.

Professionals make it look easy when it is actually nerve wrecking. I saw this live so nothing stuck out to me.
