I also enjoyed when the reporter states

'I'm just as educated as she is'

and he replies

'but you're not'.

These Young Republics and their phony online news sites and 'TV' stations are extremely tiresome.

Plus there is no way she is going to put Matt Damon on the spot regardless of her high opinion of herself.

I think the older lady may have been his Mom - she is a teacher and did a great job with her son

He's more of a journalist than any of the bozos on CNN.

The continuing decimation of our system of public education is both frustrating and frightening. IMHO, the corporate megalomaniacs--who've usurped our media, our politics AND our global economy--do not want an educated Hoi Polloi. They want factory fodder and service industry drones. More importantly, they do not want critical thinkers, because we can see past the proverbial man behind the curtain.

I am the teacher Matt describes: I want desperately to teach our children math (my students routinely tell me I make math fun and easy), but I cannot get a job. Why, you might ask. Well, I'll tell you: I am 56 and I have a Master's. This means my CV goes right into file 13.

I won't give up my efforts to teach. One of these days, I might get lucky. But, now that I'm going into Year 5 of un- or under-employment, I'm not holding my breath.

Most propaganda doesn't seem to affect him, but I'm pretty sure that he and his wife are expecting.

So now "teachers are no damned good and what are we going to do about it, huh?!?!"

I just don't know if there's any hope for our species at all.

His reply: "I've got bills to pay."
