They pat themselves on their backs for having cracked all these big conspiracies.

All their conspiracies are conflated together: Bilderbergs, "zionists" = jews, big government, etc.

Past a certain point they are too invested in their theories to apply normal critical thinking.

and he believed this shit. He got out his smart phone and showed me all kinds of diagrams and other BS. He really believed it. I looked it up on google when I came home and almost word for word it was the same info that the guy had told me at the park. It is like a cult of stupidity. They have answers for everything. NASA, airline pilots, scientists, everyone who takes photos from above the earth or the curved horizon are all in on it. The people who design the windows in airplanes are part of it too.

A matter of faith to them, and no amount of proof will change their minds. It doesn't mean they're bad people; just deluded. On second thought, if they vote for Repukes, they're bad people. I can't imagine any sane Democrat subscribing to the flat earth theory.

from the Rapture is coming crowd. Or folks who believe god brings hurricanes to kill people because of abortion or gay parades, or dipshits who believe in trickle down economics.

Wonder how they get along with the aliens are among us crowd?

I can't blame them, though, from wanting to escape reality. Reality just isn't so wonderful right now.

these confused people also had Jesus on their jackets or wore crosses.
At least Pratchett took us to the edge and also he showed us the turtle and elephants that support his disc world (fiction is fun)
