Hi everybody. Great web forum you have here. I just wanted to say I am really impressed by the posting you all have been doing the past few days.
That's how I heard about you all as someone sent me a link to this thread.

I'm so glad to see people here are willing to stand up for the rights of Americans.
American jobs are for Americans first. It's time we started looking out for OUR OWN.
Let's just say the Indian IT industry stinks. I actually had the bad luck of being able to work side by side with some members of the Indian IT industry, and trust me, you don't want to. They are incompetent.
Considering how bad things have gotten, it's not surprising people have finally decided SOMETHING needs to be done about the job theft.
I hope this works to paste in a video. Enjoy!
Gone to bed for the night, I'll check back tomorrow.
Thanks again everybody standing up to protect American jobs from theft.

(57,936 posts)Do you think that India would import Americans or outsource jobs to the US even if they knew very well we were better qualified?
No. They have a sense of national identity.
The problem is that the 1% in America has completely forgotten the inconvenient fact that they are American and that if this country AND ITS WORKING PEOPLE do not stay strong, they will be nothing themselves.
So far we have had "free" trade, but not fair trade.
Fair trade would impose and enforce equal wages, fair working conditions for all and clean environmental standards in every country permitted to enjoy the benefits of trading without import duties.
We have no way of even knowing what the actual wages and working conditions are for the workers whose products we import and buy, and we certainly have no idea just how bad the enforcement is of what few environmental standards exist in the countries from which we import and buy.
But we know that wages, working conditions and environmental regulation is really bad in the countries from which we buy most of our stuff.
Meanwhile, Americans are unemployed or underemployed. Why do we import so much?

(257 posts)I see what you're saying.
Taxing outgoing toll free calls overseas, taxing outsourcing, rewriting free trade agreements to ban sweatshops.
Try to be more snarky less dickish.
Keep in mind that this is a liberal stand up for everyone place.
Cool?

(47,675 posts)I know about this very personally. A coworker who came here on the promise of employment and a chance to naturalize brought his family. When the company hired a chop-man for the CEO, he was one of the first to go. No sponsor. Wife and young child. Shipped back home. I actually cried about that for days. The company didn't give a shit. He was paid half of what everyone else was making and made to work more hours because they had the leash of sponsorship around his neck. It didn't matter that he bent over for a figurative anal reaming every day - they threw him and his young family in the garbage.
THAT'S why they push H1-B.

(17,301 posts)For example I'm from PA. I was born in the USA with parents from the USA. I now live in TN. Some of the locals here call me a foreigner (behind my back).
But after spending 20 years in the military, I think I've earned the right to be called 100% American.
Anyway, I agree that HB1 visas, or whatever the designation is, should never be hired over a citizen of the US. But it's really not the people from India's fault. It's our own government that is at fault. It is illegal to hire a non-citizen over a citizen in the US. But corporations are getting away with it because our government lets them.
The same goes for undocumented workers. It's not the immigrant that is at fault. They are just trying to make a living. Do you think that if an American went to London, without visas or work permit, they could get a job? Not very likely because the business who hired the illegal immigrant would be fined severely. It's the fault of our government that allows corporations and businesses to hire undocumented workers and HB1 visa workers before citizens and does not enforce the laws on the books.
It's a way of destroying Unions and the middle class. The corporate elite want you to be a compliant and obedient little worker or they may give your job away to a foreigner.
