(16,402 posts)So many are saying it's "fake" and done "on a set," etc, even after such a public launch and landing. This swaggering ignorance is what's wrong with society.

(51,626 posts)They have an answer for everything and their favorite line is that "it is a conspiracy dating back to the first aerial photographs taken 100 years ago". I spoke with one such idiot (who was out walking his pet turtle on a leash) and that was all I needed to hear.

(6,045 posts)I just got home traveling from Atlanta to the Cape to watch the launch of SpaceX Falcon Heavy which was fantastic! I was in the USAF & stationed at Vandenberg AFB & got to see plenty of rocket & ICBM test launches! However, I have to admit nothing impressed me as much as those two boosters from the Falcon Heavy coming back to Earth at faster than the speed of sound & they let out 3 HUGE SONIC BOOMS that rattle the ground then refire their rocket motors & come to soft landing in unison as if they choreographed it!!!
...Ive seen many of those rocket landings on TV but seeing it live & fast theyre traveling & land so smooth it is very impressive!!!
The Tesla in space is CHILDS PLAY compared to what I witnessed live!!

(3,894 posts)It was so cool! And yes I stand in complete awe of what our scientist can do! Im amazed at how much they know about the natural world/universe we live in & even more at how they manages to figure some of the answers out! Like you said & I could not agree more scientist & great minds like Elon Musk who not only want to make profit but change the world in a positive way in process!
...This is why I truly despise the GOP who not only cater to the scientifically illiterate but lead the way in attacking science on many fronts!
