Justice Burger on the 2nd Amendment

I do not support repealing the 2nd amendment, but Burgers comments are interesting, especially those at the end of the clip.

1. So right, FRAUD perpetuated by special interests.

2. I support the repeal of the 2nd Amendment.

It is not relevant to today's nation. In fact, it is a hindrance to today's nation.

Just because it is part of the original 10 does not mean it deserves special deference.

3. Gun Ownership

So, should individuals have the right to own a gun for self protection, hunting, or sport shooting? I do believe people should have a right to own guns for protection, hunting, and sporting. My problem with repealing the 2nd amendment is the chance that people might end up being banned from buying any type of gun. I think law abiding citizens should at least have a choice in whether or not to buy a gun.

4. Do not confuse the issue. I'm not saying ban guns.

No where did I say we need to ban guns and take them away. I grew up on a farm and understand there is a real and rational reason to own them.

I think the repeal of the 2nd Amendment would take away all the arguments that ANY law is a violation of the Constitution.

Some people should be banned from buying any type of guns. Some guns should be banned from being purchased by any type of people.

With the 2nd Amendment in place we spend too much time arguing whether ANY regulation is unconstitutional rather than focusing on what regulation is reasonable. We have to change the focus and the best way to do that is remove the 2nd Amendment.
