Trey Gowdy: Congress was a waste of time, and the only goal of the GOP is to win elections

Gowdy is as responsible as anyone for DJT getting elected.
He ran a partisan smear campaign on Hillary, based on a lie.


Even so, I welcome his change of mind. Anyone who finds the true path and rejects the GOP, I welcome. Trey, you need to serve some penance. An apology to Hillary would be nice. But this is a decent start.

with him on anything politically. No wonder he has changed. McConnell has no kids and Ryan's are too young to be disgusted with their father so there is no hope for them to wake up. But we certainly owe this next generation of kids alot. Perhaps being online with trolls, as no generation of kids has been, they are wise beyond their years.

2. Yup, kids have impact. Also Gowdy, unlike most GOP, is actually quite smart.

The GOP relies on stupid people for a lot - for votes, and for the most partisan Congressmen.
Mark Meadows, Jim Jeffords, Chuck Grassley, Gaetz, Rand Paul - these people are morons. The GOP billionaire donor class likes it that way, they are more easily manipulated.

Just look at Adam Schiff vs. Devin Nunes. Schiff is an ex-prosecutor and Ivy League law grad whose briefs and questions show his level of intelligence. Nunes is an ex-farmer whose main goal was throwing pork to the Azores before he stupidly decided to help out DJT and Russia in attacking America. Nunes is a moron. It's almost embarrassing watching Schiff take on Nunes in a fair debate.

But Gowdy is actually a pretty sharp guy. You can tell from his examinations in hearings. Maybe that's why he's rejecting the GOP.
