Perjury over a bj is far less significant than providing the Russians a way to interfere with our government and money laundering.

of House and (hopefully) Senate unhindered investigations, exposing the Trump & Republican complicity, the optics would look an awful lot better going into 2020.

Pence is just as complicit in Russiagate (hand-picked by Putin as running mate after all), and even more extreme.

I really think that impeaching him is bad idea. Unless Mueller comes out with stuff that so clearly demands impeachment then I think the we should let him ride it out. He will already be half-way through before we could even begin impeachment proceedings. It would take the rest of his first term to get through them.

I don't see the win in it. Again, unless Muller comes out with documentation that is so damning and so irrefutable that it must be taken by the House and used to impeach. Even if that happens there will still be a large percentage of people who deny the evidence and call it all conspiracy.

his term, get a nice pension plus perks for the rest of his life? NO WAY. Get the orange ass OUT of the WH. Every day he spends there is an insult to normal people. Expose him for the crook that he is, along with his criminal family. He constantly yells about "Crooked Hillary" when he is the crook, has been his entire miserable life. Thank the gop for this abomination in office. tRump has been sliding by on criminal behaviour his entire life. The time for facing reality is here, NOW. How many lives has he ruined, filing bankruptcy and putting people out of business? He is as vile as he looks. Third rate wanna be wise guy.

I just don't think it is wise for the long-game to do an impeachment. It will rally his base for sure.

Where you may have the right idea about impeaching him is this. I think there is a big difference between impeaching 45 and impeaching Clinton. I suspect Clinton survived and gained popularity because the people saw his impeachment as a purely malicious act by the GOP. Really without merit or reason for having been done. 45 should not get any of the same thoughts and sympathy about an impeachment of him. His acts are not personal indiscretions. They are traitorous.

The problem is, they've been blatantly traitorous and in the public for a long time now and there has been no groundswell to get rid of him.

Once it does and when significant crimes are announced. Democrats would be unwise to not impeach regardless of what republicans would do. Democrats would look like spineless cowards if they refuse to impeach out of fear of not getting enough republican votes in the Senate. The false equivalency of comparing Trump to Clinton's situation is just that a false equivalency. Clinton's was already popular before impeachment his approval rating was over 50% while Trump's approval rating is in the 30's. Clinton was being impeached for trivial reasons compared to the crimes of Trump. Clinton was in his 2nd term and could not be reelected anyway. The only President to be impeached in his first term was Andrew Johnson and not only did he not get reelected but he lost in a primary.

I firmly believe if Trump is found to have committed crimes Democrats should impeach. Not only is it the right thing to do, but it also makes good political sense. Impeach him and force Senate republicans to either do the right thing and vote to remove him or vote to defend a known criminal. If they chose the latter Democrats should beat them over the head with that vote without mercy.

Even if Trump isn't removed from office he will probably lose pretty badly in 2020 that is if repukes don't run a primary against him before then.

We should not fear the base of a president who lost the popular vote by nearly 3 million. Both Bill Clinton and Richard Nixon were reelected in legitimate landslides Trump's base isn't close to either of them.
