FBI Reconstructing Shredded Documents from Michael Cohen Raid

1. So I'm wondering...

How did the FBI know that Cohen was destroying evidence? How did they assess the situation as one in which destruction of evidence was presently occurring when they sought a judge's approval for the raid that they engineered? Can we speculate that they were surveilling Cohen and had some fairly sophisticated listening devices planted all over Cohen's communications devices and whereabouts? Did they plant microphones in Cohen's residence? Were they able to detect the sound of the shredder? Perhaps we'll never know.

2. 15 cell phones

One of them was turned on. The audio and video can be turned on and captured remotely. Besides, Cohen is not a “fixer” rather a certified “breaker.”

3. It wouldn't surprise me to find out that Cohen put the shredded

docs into the trash. Trash is not protected... you can retrieve it without any warrants at all.

The real surprise is that he didn't invest in a decent cross cut shredder.
