You can't count on the Republican constituency being able to grasp the fact that they are aiding in the establishment of a dictatorial presidency that eventually will leave the without any rights. The ultra-conservatives' propaganda machine has been able to demonized the Democrats as immoral, un-American enemies that must be crushed. Their constituency will willingly forfeit their rights if they are told it will destroy the opposition. They have been so traumatized with the lies that are spread 24/7 that they are ready to provide the president unlimited power to crush the evil liberals and save the nation from these immoral jackals. How could this happen in a modern society with access to unlimited information? It is my opinion that the most important event in our recent history was the repeal of the Fairness Doctrine and the unlimited ownership of radio stations.

The founders of our nation were fully aware that it is imperative for the function of a democracy to have informed citizens and total unlimited freedom of the press. Ever dictator has been intent on firstly, silence the opposition. The Republican conspiracy is intent on silencing any voices that are critical of their intentions and have begun a campaign to not only silence the press, but to destroy the credibility of every federal agency that could oppose them, including the DOJ, FBI, and CIA. How this will end will be up to the depth of the apathy of the citizens. Will we allow it to happen?
