I had experience with Socialist years ago, communists also. They are not to be trusted with issue of oppression. They are stuck on "it's just money" that makes everything the way it is with oppression, racism, sexism. They choose to ignore the truth that while insurance redlining, racial redlining, credit redlining, racial profiling affect mostly the most struggling americans. I am one. She will try and she seems sincere. I just hope these fresh new faces change our direction to fighting for inclusion of every race and culture in a Democracy, not a Democratic socialist democracy where money equality will take away a lot of the racism, sexism ect. It's just not true.

If I am wrong I will just be wrong.... I don't trust socialists. It does not work as a guiding ideology for the masses, especially POC.

just stating an opinion and standing firm on mistrust of democratic socialist. Yes, the distinction is important.

But a Democratic Socialist as they practice in Scandinavian. A democratically elected government with Fair tax rates to fund what should be basic rights: healthcare, education, security (both economical & political), and the other basic needs of Society. These are areas the poll highly in this Country, but the messaging is lost in the basic lack of knowledge of the population and the right wing media machine.

I appreciate the explanation of her politics/ideology. It does make a difference. Scandinavian. Interesting. I will research. I had forgotten that form of socialism.

.....populations.

It won't work in a country like the United States, which has a population of 320,000,000 with a varied ethnic and religious backgrounds who live in a myriad of geographical areas and climates - coastal, mountain, plains, warm/cold, etc.

Denmark has been used as an example - but they have only about 6 million people, 95% of which are similar ethnically and religiously, and the geography of the country is similar everywhere.

We had a population of 153 million in 1950. We had a top tax rate of 90% and we were able to pay off the war debt; provide for the GI Bill and free education up to the 12th grade; build the Interstate Highway System; offer Social Security for the elderly; farm subsidies to rebuild our food supply; and many other post war benefits were provided to the population. And Eisenhower was a Republican.
It will work again in the USA, but we have too many who don’t want to sacrifice ANYTHING for the common good.
SAD 😞

This is the problem. We need revenue, not giveaways to the rich.
