1. I know that. I don't have to be a general to recognize that Trump doesn't understand NATO.

Of course, "Poindexter Oglethorpe" has absolutely no standing outside DU, and very little within these electronic walls.

But the essential thing, and what I've been arguing all along, is that Trump is ignorant to a degree that most people don't get, in no small part because most people assume that because he was a "successful real estate guy" he must have been pretty smart. And knowledgeable about lots of stuff. Wrong, and that's been obviously wrong for decades now.

This is a man who clearly didn't learn a single thing in high school or college, clearly hasn't read a book on his own ever, and hasn't read a required book since about 8th grade. He's run all of his businesses into the ground, and astonishingly enough has bullied investors and banks into buying into the fiction that he's a smart and able businessman.

People keep on coming up with convoluted theories about how Putin is feeding him all his lines, and I say, no. Trump really is that ignorant and grandiose. Putin may occasionally suggest something, but my best guess is that Trump is coming up with all his ignorant statements, all his stupid tariffs, all his judges, all his cabinet members, all his White House staff, completely on his own. Oh, he does get a small amount of help from those nearest him, but in the end it's all Trump, Trump, Trump.
