(204,856 posts)After his appearances on MSNBC last night, it's great timing that he was scheduled for Colbert tonight! He's smart, well spoken, and most important - he's speaking out for us!

(56,828 posts)if he hopes to get through a Democratic primary. He's in the lower third of the Democratic caucus in the House in terms of how progressive is his voting record. And, that's in a safe blue district in Massachusetts.

(56,828 posts)I'd happily vote for him over any Republican, but I just don't see him winning a grueling primary process with a moderate voting record.

(204,856 posts)But I agree that in the current political climate we're desperate for someone will speak out for us. I'm hoping that we can defeat the Paul Ryan supporter in my district, as it is protesters tend to show up wherever she goes. I think that Joe Kennedy's heart is in the right place and what's going on now needs to light a fire under him (and a lot of others). He did a great job speaking out on MSNBC on Wednesday night - and here's hoping he got a few pointers from Colbert.

Sorry, just a bit of a peeve with all late night shows ... love me some Steven, don't get me wrong, but ... that was a big womp womp ... and it seems to happen often on his show ... things are rushed along ...

(204,856 posts)It always seems like they just get going when he has to end the interview. And I think Stephen could easily talk to them for the whole show. The other night he had a pretty intense political discussion - and his next guest was in some TV show or movie and he asked about her personal life. It was a let down. I know he has actors on who are promoting some project, but it seems frivolous considering what we're experiencing in this country - which Stephen opens with every night.
