Todd Akin has EMBARRASSED America to the world (Australian news report on the controversy)

Last edited Tue Aug 21, 2012, 08:40 PM - Edit history (1)

Segment from the Australian TV program "ABC News Breakfast" from August 20. Beverley O'Connor interviews ABC (Australia) North America correspondent Craig McMurtrie about the Todd Akin controversy. If American conservatives thought their own nation's news media was liberally biased, they've got to see this! O'Connor even asks at 3:35 whether Romney might "dump" Akin or call on Akin to step down.

Link Ryan and Rmoney to this clown. We need Dem's on the air comparing the three as one. This is how Ryan believes, Rmoney said he would sign a person hood bill. If we don't open this can of worms soon, we will lose this fight. "Forced Rape" should be the headline till the convention.

Truth is every time a Republican gets in front of a TV camera it's a potential embarrassment before the world. I'm sure many people are scratching their heads wondering how we continue to be a world power with flat-earthers like these running the show.

Must be her fault the sperm that hit the egg was a female. Women have been killed by this level of ignorance and the misogyny that causes it.

We are dividing into different castes in the world. The ones who know scientific principles will rule and not be affected by this. Those who wallow in ignorance will end up in the lower castes.

I feel we are being readied for our placement in such a society as Brave New World presents, without all of that technology.

The coarsening of society by media, selling of the obscene such as torture, disrespecting the human body and others, the shredding of the conscience, is not by accident, IMHO.

It is deliberate scheme to have people act like wild animals and end up being handled like livestock. When I was growing up, this thinking and crossing boundaries was anathema.

Last night I posted this, and know I'm beating a dead horse but I feel we're getting there this way:

The GOP Agenda: Controlling the Means of (Re)Production

Sometimes it takes me a while, but the pieces have finally slid into place. Like a lot of others, I have been mistakenly thinking that the GOP’s legislative campaign against women is about domination or subversion or repression or some other kind of man-woman conflict. It’s not at all. It is about dehumanization: the puppet party of business seeking dominion over the population by controlling our reproduction.

Consider that the ideal environment for multinational corporations is pretty much the opposite of what benefits humans:

Corporations would like to drive down the worldwide cost of human capital in order to own and manage a world economy. We have already seen how this is accomplished. On the production side, corporations play leapfrog, moving factories from country to country based on marginal labor savings. On the revenue side, they drain the private assets of countries whose citizens still have money. With no resources, the citizens are ripe to be exploited as the next labor force...
