Haven't been to a movie in 8 years. Don't miss the improbable, hyped, stereotyped, predictable. And sure don't miss trailers. Many rotten tomatoes to them.

Same goes for those TV trailers of what is going to happen in the next show coming up. Not to mention the assault on the ears and eyes with loud over-the-top sounds and rapid film cuts.

Why do I want to see all the best bits, all the best shots, sometimes even the climax of the film...before I even watch a second of it! I want to be surprised. Its like before you read a well reviewed book and someone first reads all the highlight passages to you. Why?

I don't use a trailer to decide what I watch. I read reviews and decide from there. Although I haven't been to a theater for a long time, I remember having to sit through 5 or 10 minutes of these loud assaulting spectacles. If one came on for a movie I wanted to see but had not done so I had to cover my ears and shut my eyes til it was over.

TV is more insidious. Any Gordon Ramsay show is the worst. 5 minutes of preshow highlights with dramatic loud music. Then before AND AFTER every commercial break as well with highlights of whats to come. I don't need to be 'enticed' to watch the rest of the show. I have already chosen to watch it way before I turned on the tube. It just eats valuable time out of what could be used in the program, already shortened by actual commercials.

vent off.
