I happened to catch a stand up special and he can do terrific impressions and voices! He also "gets" US politics, and he's only been here since 2011.

I liked him right away, he's pretty smart too. Jon Stewart sure was able to find a lot of good talent.

I once got to be in his studio audience! But I think Trevor is a worthy successor, he's personable so people like him and he can get away with saying some pretty rough things about Trump!
I know a lot of us hoped for John Oliver after he did such a great job of filling in for Jon. But from what I've read, he'd rather avoid having to deal with Trump - so his show tackles other issues while The Daily Show is still covering breaking news.
