That said... It's perfectly understandable. You can push people only so far until somebody snaps.

here as we have a federal election in canada in a year. Canadians like diversity by a great majority. Maybe Harper and the Conservatives are planning to grow hate here like Trump did in the US. The gun wedge does not work so well in canada as it used to be used in US elections. There was another incident in a parking lot today of someone yelling at someone as if they are foreigners. This is a trend I worry. Imagine exploiting a tragedy like the Danforth shootings to win an election and turn a country against each other. IMHO I have no proof. We'll see if the incidents continue. Show some fink getting thrown into a water fountain is a way to stop this behaviour. I don't condone violence either. I would think the guy who threw him in is guilty of assault.

I hope Trumpism isn't seeping over the border like the infectious disease it is.

And I agree with you: I think the guy who threw the bigot into the fountain is guilty of assault.

...for their "violent left" screeds.

In any case, I expect we'll see many more such incidents, on both sides of the border. It's wrong, it's assault... but it's still perfectly understandable.
