I don't get home 'til almost midnight and this saved me loads of time, looking through my recorded shows to find the gems.
I know a lot of people don't happen to catch this, either because they go to bed early or aren't near a TV, and like I've said before, I figure we need the humor these days. I've gotten so I'm pretty efficient at finding what I'm looking for and Colbert never disappoints! BTW, I also worked nights for a lot of years, they couldn't pay me enough to work early mornings... 
I like the hours, too. I usually go to bed about now and sleep until 11:00 or noon. Gives me a few hours before I go in again. Ideally, I should work graveyard shift. I keep thinking about going back to working in an ER and working nights. I just have it so cushy now, I've gotten lazy. Daytime sleeping is the best!
In a world that functions 9-5 (or 8-4 Mountain Time) or if you have noisy neighbors, but I found that it was more comfortable for me. And it sounds like your job's more stressful than mine was - I mainly dealt with the West Coast - but I'm glad that you have Stephen Colbert to come home to... 
Put me in the not near a TV catagory.
And I know that you're not in the "don't stay up this late" category!

Everyday I see them digging themselves in deeper and deeper. I wonder how deep are they going to get us before they are forced to let go and sink on down, buried in their own stinking mess.
Which turns out to be the latest Trump idiotic statements/offenses against Americans and/or humanity of the day. I figure that we need all the humor we can get these days...
