My maternal grandparents came from Poland, both in 1912, she was 15 and came without family, went to work in a factory at 10-cents an hour, and he was 18 - was made a citizen and sent to France to fight for this country in WWI. They raised two daughters, the eldest was my mother, and both graduated from college. My mother was an honor student, earned a full scholarship and she said her father cried.

My paternal great grandparents emigrated from Ireland in the late 1800s. She came with her family as a child, he arrived later as a young man. They met and married here, ran a farm and raised a family, their two eldest sons joined up together and were both sent to France to fight for this country in WWI. My grandfather was with the Cavalry, delivered needed ammunition to the battle lines on horseback. My great uncle was on the front lines, earned the silver star.

When she was initially boycotted for her reprehensible remarks about David Hogg and the students of Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, many of her advertisers bailed. She unexpectedly took that "planned vacation" and disappeared for two weeks. Then faux news rallied behind her, she returned to the air and some of her sponsors returned.

All this did was embolden her to crank up her racist rhetoric. Since then, she has made more and more ugly remarks.

Tell us, Laura, where did YOUR family come from to live in this country ? Would they have been allowed to immigrate now under today's criteria ? When I was a child, people from Poland were referred to as "bohunks" and "Polacks" and none of that is flattering. They were perceived to be of lower intelligence with poor hygiene. (Of course this is stereotypical nonsense, but it enjoyed wide acceptance and was very prominent opinion at that time.)

This woman is going to continue to ratchet up her racist attacks on anyone in her cross-hairs. We should not be surprised when she does it again. And again. And again.

Ingraham grew up in Glastonbury, Connecticut, where she was born to Anne Caroline (née Kozak) and James Frederick Ingraham III. Her maternal grandparents were Polish immigrants, and her father was of Irish and English ancestry.

Just as you can find many more examples of citizens involved in the worst kind of criminal activity. Citizenship does not turn one into a saint. There will always be bad elements in every nationality.

But by showing an array of criminals who happen to also be undocumented immigrants, it seers into the brain, especially simple minded brains, that that is the norm rather than the exception.

It is the height of disingenuous to present the state of things this way. This should be criminal. To falsely present reality by cherry picking events and stringing them together to stoke fear and racism in the country.
