No weird hand gestures or facial expressions. He was articulate and actually had a fairly normal vocabulary. But oh yes, he was a total asshole. Now we can flash-forward and see the meltdown and deterioration of such assholes.

. . . that I haven't got a clue what I'm talking about."

It was all BS and he got away with it for so many years! I think 1987 was when his book came out "The Art of the Deal." Maybe this interview was promoting the book, I don't know. But we do know from Tony Schwartz (the co-author) that Trump didn't write a single word of that book - it was all written by Schwartz. He has spoken up in the the last couple years about it since the NDA expired, and he says even then at age 41 Trump had serious and weird/odd character flaws.

President Trump. Also what a sleazy, double-talking scumbag he is. Our president is clearly cognitively impaired, whether that is due to age-related dementia or brain damage of some sort.

8. Regarding the rent control situation

I hate to say it, but he's partly right. I know people who had to sell buildings because the rent (rent controlled) wouldn't cover the utilities. Also, I know someone who is in a rent control, she keeps the NYC apartment for winter, and then she has a summer home on the beach (why is this fair?).
Also, today, getting an apartment in NYC is crazy. You have to get co op approval which is a nightmare. And many affordable apartments have a low income requirement, which, given the asking price and income maximum, it pretty much guarantees that junior's parents are going to pay for it, or someone who has a large inheritance.

There's so much wrong with the way things are done. I don't know the answer, but I see that what was done does not benefit the people who really need it.

West Village in a prime location (Bank St. between Waverly and W. 4th) who had a rent controlled apartment and (as I found out later after doing some investigating) she was charging me the entire price of the apartment and had a condo in Miami Beach. I'm sorry, but people like that are just scum.

Also, she was bat-shit crazy and constantly prying into my business and never respected my boundaries. I worked a regular corporate job and she just grifted (she was a so called "fashion photographer" and was always going to events to get free stuff and find new victims.) The minute I went to bed at night she would start playing with her dog by throwing a ball against my bedroom wall. When I confronted her about it she said "Well, this is the time of night when he likes to play". She was absolutely horrible.

What she was doing (charging me the entire rent) was illegal so I threatened her w/ exposure to her landlord if she didn't return my deposit upfront and let me break the "lease" that she had drawn up. She agreed to my terms. She was one of the biggest slimeballs I had ever met.

However Trump is still a greedy asshole. Nothing will ever change that.
