(4,033 posts)The Mrs. and I have fully embraced the 'get it online' philosophy. It is a rare week that goes by that one or two packages don't show up at our place. They come via USPS, UPS, Fed Ex, and private courier. Not once have we had a package show up damaged or tossed into the yard. Usually the delivery person comes through the gate, up the steps, and leaves the package on the porch. If they are nervous about the dogs (obviously they don't know the difference between a 'Hi! We're so excited to see you' bark and a 'Oh goody, here's someone we can bite and rip to pieces' bark'). Obvious our dogs, being Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, love everyone and want to be their new best friend. So, if the delivery doesn't understand dogspeak, they occasionally leave the package just outside the gate.
Once (and only once) we had UPS leave our package at the right address on the wrong street. The driver was back at our door, with the package, apologizing all over the place about 15 minutes after I called UPS and told them my email said 'package delivered' but there was no package to be found.
Every large company will have a few bad apples who suddenly finding themselves not working for the company as soon as the company finds them out.
