(383 posts)Perhaps you go through life doing things half-assed. The best of the best give it all they've got; not for fame or glory or public adoration, but for inter self-satisfaction. They try to answer the questions: can I and should I do this thing, and at what personal cost? That ad carries a very powerful message. It is based on real-life current events which make it all the more important.

(14,176 posts)I can see many Americans not even knowing who he is, or why he is narrating this ad. Non sports/NFL fans. There is not even a hint of the circumstances surrounding his stance, or what it was for. So it becomes still a good ad about overcoming hurdles that life throws at you, from an athletic viewpoint at least, no matter who narrates it. But it could have had a lot more power.

impunity. I will never call the police again...it's too dangerous.
