Jimmy Kimmel Live: Trump's Presidential Alerts - The Movie

The idea of letting President Trump send a text message alert to every American may sound like a bad idea. But what do we do here in Hollywood when we have a bad idea? We make a movie out of it!

idea that Trump can now text the whole Nation ... whenever he wants.

It very much seems to be conveying the notion that OUR collective fear about how this system could potentially be abused by the Shithead in Chief ... are totally overblown.

I personally OTOH have a pretty serious suspicion that in the end it's going to turn out to be no laughing matter, and that 'our' fears ... are actually quite well-placed.

IOW, I do NOT TRUST Trump to not abuse this newly given power ... not for one f***ing second.

Well, maybe for a SOME seconds, but weeks or months? Seriously doubt it.

If the system was tested when Obama was president there would be plenty of irrational people that would behave in a similar fashion to those in this act. I even heard from my conservative sister and she was irritated by the test of the system on Wednesday.

While I do not trust Trump either, my understanding is that he can't use the system like he uses Twitter.

With those things being mentioned, it's a comedy sketch that exaggerates the reaction that occurred on Wednesday. If anything, I have learned to laugh at myself over the years so I don' take offense easily. As someone who is bipolar it also helps to use humor to keep things in context. Otherwise, I would be overrun by manic episodes like those shown in the skit.

His offensive insanity really has been "normalized." What Jimmy Kimmel dramatized is just an exaggeration of what he already does now - it's snuck up on us because even most of those who are outraged are civil about it. And Trump just keeps pushing the envelope...

And Stephen Colbert joked about the very same thing - both in the opening and his monologue.
