Went to max's once in 1976. Gosh that was so long ago.

I was, for a famous, or perhaps infamous, "night club" anyway. Hard to believe how some of these bands could fit everyone plus their equipment on the stage. Same with CBGB. Max's made CBGB look like the Taj Mahal, especially the infamous bathrooms at CBGB. Anyone who ever saw the movie 'Trainspotting' with "the worst bathroom in Scotland" scene would know how much better that bathroom was compared to the men's room at CBGB.
