the Democratic House as a badge of honor with Republicans and his base, and only a conviction in the Senate will make a difference in his status.

2. And it would go nowhere in the Senate, so it's entirely a waste of energy, that could backfire.

The most obvious way forward is the "death by 1000 cuts" route. Indict his family (especially through NY State Trump Charity indictment), and expose everything that Republicans tried to cover up, not only in the Russia investigation, but who did what in the Separation of children from their parents etc. Bring his numbers to below 30, and destroy the Republican Party in 2020. That's the real victory.

devastating report, the Republicans are so wedded (welded ? ) to him, that they STILL won't tempt the wrath of the Trumpistas in 2020. And there's the added benefit that the 2018 midterms were just the break in the dam, 2 years gives people time to take in all the crimes that Republicans were complicit in.
