He’s the kind of candidate I would have supported last time. However we need to win, that is my top priority now. Most of our candidates have the same message. I want the one who will win.

I understand your support of Yang and best of luck to him.

But since V&M is a political forum, I post the interviews with the political guests. And I agree, we have to choose the candidate that can defeat Trump - though I'm sure hoping he won't last that long. Every day with him is a fresh new nightmare...

Just not funny.

The shock approach to comedy is lazy. UBI is interesting, altho basically unworkable. You can't sell Americans on the idea (Chieng dismantled it with a couple of half jokes) and the one time it's been tried (Finland), all it accomplished was reducing government paperwork. It didn't really create new jobs. There's smarter ways to stimulate market Demand. No offense to Mr. Yang, but running a business just isn't any kind of training for developing and selling public policy.

programs have been tried in Europe (Utrecht, Netherlands), Canada and currently Stockton, CA in the US. We'll see how it goes, rule out nothing in these turbulent, complex times. K & R
