Despicable: Conserv. Commentator Candace Owens at hrg says someone called her despicable.

Hearing on "White Nationalism." Rep Lieu played to Conservative Commentator Candace Owens (Trumper) statements she had made about Hitler and Germany. She then snapped that someone referred to her as despicable (she doesn't mention that was in response to her calling someone despicable).

Speaking of despicable, what a motley crew of despicable characters the Trump family and friends make.

2. Actually, Owens called a BuzzFeed reporter "despicable" first, in May of 2015. And she lies.

Yet Owens, suddenly a new face of the American right, was less than two years ago the CEO of an online publication that frequently mocked then-candidate Trump, including conducting a mock “investigation” into his penis size. (The story determined that it was likely very small.) And in a 2015 column for the site lambasting conservative Republicans, Owens wrote that it was “good news” that the “Republican Tea Party ... will eventually die off (peacefully in their sleep, we hope).”

Indeed, the speed with which Owens has gone from running a frequently anti-Trump, anti-conservative website to being one of the president’s most prominent new supporters illustrates the wild land grab still going on for influence in the pro-Trump ecosystem.

Owens did not immediately respond to requests for comment via email and Twitter, though she did stress in tweets earlier today that the writers for the site, called Degree180, were young. She also described the reporter as a "despicable creature."

(She also accused BuzzFeed News, falsely, of "threatening" the former writers for the site.)

But geez...I expected to see a post-smile for the cute video. They are "the despicables from Mr. Magoo's Christmas Carol. A motley crew who are also reprehensible and shifty, as the song says.

I did not watch the video. I don't have much time for random videos.

6. It wasn't in the video, which is a cartoon song. It's in one sentence in the short post I did.

You should watch the video. It's great. It was a very popular Christmas program for many years...for a reason. It's a song by a group of despicables who rob the dead, and had just robbed and turned in for coins the various tacky things they took from Ebenezer Scrooge's death room.

‘Despicable’: Dem Congressman Accuses Candace Owens of ‘Desecrating the Lives’ of Hate Crimes Victims
By Tommy Christopher Apr 9th, 2019, 1:41 pm

Rep. David Cicilline (D-RI) levelled heavy criticism at conservative activist and discredited Hitler expert Candace Owens over her appearance at a hearing on hate crimes, saying she was “desecrating the lives” of those killed in hate crimes by politicizing the hearing.

During a House Judiciary Committee hearing on “Hate Crimes and the Rise of White Nationalism,” Cicilline criticized the minority party witnesses, Owens and Zionist Organization of America (ZOA) National President Mort Klein, for politicizing the hearing.

“I thank the chairman for convening this hearing, and regret that there are some on this panel who have tried to hijack this hearing, and desecrate the lives lost to the hate crimes and violence of white supremacists, by attempting to use this as an opportunity to promote a political position, or a political party,” Ciciline said, adding “I think that is despicable and deeply regrettable.” [...]

She supports the GOP. She should know she's just being used because she's a woman of color. If she doesn't understand that her opinions are not worth contemplating because she's not very bright.

If she does understand, that makes her an opportunist. That makes her despicable.

Kristin Clarke, the executive director of The Lawyers Committee for Civil Rights Under Law refuted the conservatives talking points completely. She was interviewed on PBS Newshour tonight and did it again, after coverage of the committee hearings that showed Owens at her self promotional best. No doubt Fox News interviewed her instead.
