(153,180 posts)it's scary how many people think we should just, you know, wait to see if it's all taken care of in 2020!

(1,525 posts)If we do not then it is over. Then the power of impeachment must be turned to the Attorney General and the Robert's court. It is a very big job that has to be done, but if it is not done then the Republic is dead.
My fear is that is already too late.

(4,612 posts)in its darkest hour. Know that History will judge how we behaved. Even if we don't have the votes and the Senate won't convict we must go on record, stand up and be counted. We all castigate and revile the Germans who stood by doing nothing while their darkness was descending.

(19,204 posts)"It won't pass in the Senate, so what's the point"? When someone says that I see red. SO WHAT IF IT DOESN'T PASS IN THE SENATE! So far republican Senators have been sitting back making all sorts of noise, or none at all, and don't have to stick their long ugly necks out. MAKE the republican Senators commit to either abetting a career criminal, a Constitution shredding egomaniac bent on destroying our country, or finally stand up for the rule of law and defending the Constitution of the United States. Make them decide what they're going to tell their constituents when they're looking to be re-elected in their Senate districts in 2020.
Of course we know most will defend the Criminal in Chief, but some may have pangs of conscience (and close re-election campaigns to think about) and decide to uphold the Constitution. But make them decide, and record that decision on the Congressional record!
So far they've had things pretty easy. They've been able to make all sorts of noise, or none at all, without having any skin in the game. And McTurtle can't refuse to put it up for a vote, like he's done with everything else that democrats have sent to the Senate. They have to record a 'Yea' or 'Nay' vote. Make the shit-weasels finally sweat a little.
