A climate-change frontier in the world's northernmost town
The world's northernmost town of Longyearbyen in Svalbard is struggling to cope with the effects of climate change. Icebergs are toppling into warming waters and thawing permafrost alongside unpredictable weather conditions leave a constant threat of what residents see as 'unnatural' disasters - like avalanches.
