Joe Biden's eye appeared to be bleeding during a CNN town hall on climate change. Eagle-eyed viewers took to Twitter to express concern about the bloody eye.

One day at work, I went into the restroom to wash my hands, glanced into the mirror, saw my eye was bleeding, and freaked out! I had no idea what was happening—I thought I was going to go blind or something. I called the optometrist right away, went in, and was immediately put at ease. She diagnosed me with the same thing, told me it was nothing to worry about, and it would go away in a week or two, which it did. I’m in my mid-fifties and perfectly healthy.

The tiny little blood vessels in the eye can burst. It is rarely permanent or indicative of any major problems. It has happened to me on occasion with no lasting bad effects.
