His claim that bad drug traffickers and bad bad people including gang members are among the people trying to escape the devastation in Bahamas sound a lot like the core theme of his campaign which he declared as he came down the golden escalator in Trump Tower. "Mexico is not sending us their good people, they are sending drug dealers, human traffickers, killers, rapist, etc." "some of them are probably good people". That morphed into the US is being invaded by caravans of thousands of people that include many bad people" "We will infested with bad people from Honduras, Guatemala, and el Salvador who want to come to US for all the free benefits they can get.

Trumps declaration that the potential migrants from the Bahamas will have to have the proper documentation or they will not be allowed to enter is better than his dream of a wall. There are estimated 70,000 homeless people in the Bahamas as a result of Dorian. Their homes were blown away or sucked out to sea by the surge. I am sure that none of those 70,000 homeless had all their legal documents in water proof pouches stuck in their pockets as they walked through chest deep water to seek safety. Besides the required documentation "they will have to meet the other criteria". Who knows what that will be.

Can anyone see a theme here? They are all predominately brown skinned.

Can't help but think of Charlottesville where there was only one killed by the Nazi White Supremacist but Trump believed "there were good people on both sides".
