... but why have him on CNN? Let him flap on Faux Snooze or some minor news channel.

CNN should be interviewing the Democratic leadership, or at the very least, someone with prosecutorial expertise like Preet Bharara, Sally Yates, Eric Holder. etc. Rick Santorum is just a wasted opportunity. If I'd been watching CNN I would have turned my TV off.
