Why was Sen. Chris Coons absolutely speechless today on Morning Joe?

He was responding well to questions about Hunter Biden but could not answer a question about Hunter's working for Ukraine at all, after he successfully fielded questions related to Trump's ridiculous accusations. Surely, he must have known that question would be asked.

It was very awkward.

1. He did get flummoxed after referring to Hunter as Beau, and was corrected.

sympathize with. What I was referencing was the question at the end about why Hunter was affiliated with Ukraine at all, given his father's position as VP.

It didn't look very good...

MANY Dems struggle with their messaging, and also with getting and KEEPING a coherent story line out there when it concerns something that they really need to KEEP straight and STRONG.

I loathe tRumpthugicans, but that tReasonous-ass party usually knows how to stay on message, and spread their lies and propaganda.

I've always heard and been told that lies are usually difficult to keep together/straight. And that truth was usually always easy to keep straight, because the story never changed.

4. Chris Coons wasn't supposed to win in the first place

Chris Coons was a sacrificial candidate selected to run against former Delaware Governor and US Rep. Mike Castle (R) who would have simply walked to election. Because Castle was one of the dying breed of moderate Republicans, he was blindsided by Christine "I am not a witch" O'Donnell, who won an upset in the GOP primary.

Coons is an incurious, "both sides of the aisle", "common ground", empty suit.

Neither Chris Coons, nor Joe Biden for that matter, are in a continuous state of mourning.

From your description, he mixed up Biden's sons' names, and then went on about Beau, to avoid talking about Hunter.

Is that about it?

He was a guy who stumbled into a patch of clover when the Tea Party got too full of itself and offered up an un-electable candidate.

I'm shocked he gets as much tv time as he does.

14. Well he better pull out a win against Scott Walker if Walker gets the GOP nom in DE.

Walker is a slum lord trumpian asshole who switches parties like Lady Gaga switches outfits. Last election he ran as GOP. Time before that, it was Dem. He tends to live out of his car and nails his homemade campaign signs to trees and light polls. I'm ready with my "N"s this time. If an "L" falls off of his signs, I'm replacing it to read WANKER.

I think the farther south you get in DE, the more red it gets.
