Fuckerberg's Platform Help To The Alt-Right -- How To Move People Away From Progressive Media

This seems too long. Still it's worth knowing when encountering alt-righties who can't believe they are racist or Nazis.

The far-right and alt-right, white nationalists, white supremacists, and neo-nazis have gamified hate, and are radicalizing young disaffected white men by preying on a sense of alienation that they can expand and occupy. It is important to be a patient and kind counterpoint to these victims before they get to, say, stage 5. If people they trust and know outside of their toxic fan communities are able to be patient with them and commiserate and explain what's going on, they can be saved. I've met a number of people who were deep into the alt-right-o-sphere, and usually a combination of the toxic community turning on them and a patient and informed family member or friend has successfully made them leave the toxicity behind.

A really important tweet thread from one I know:

To start, I wrote this article to explain what tactics neo-nazis use to recruit people, how those tactics work, and why the tactics are especially appealing in niche internet nerd subcultures like the Furry Fandom.

The alt-righters have gamified hate, they just try to see how many people they can convince to swallow that red pill like it's a contest, then they use them until they're broken, and if they show the tiniest glimmer of remorse for shitty things they do, they're tossed out, excommunicated, turned upon.
