(7,399 posts)sort of liked it. It struck a chord with a lot of people. I am not at all sure when that changed until we have so many in denial these days, as far as our environment. Reagan certainly played a part.

(17,865 posts)Seeing it with my dad. Heston might have been a gun nut, but he had roles in three of the most iconic pre-Star Wars science fiction movies (Soylent Green, The Omega Man, and of course Planet of the Apes).
Strongly talked about global warming. This is in 1973.
Movie based on the Harry Harrison novel Make Room, Make Room. By the way those who get so bent out of shape about casting African Americans in roles the source material had as white, the body guard in the book was African American.

(3,491 posts)One aspect of this is that comedians never have to worry about becoming soylent green. Word is they were ruled out because they taste funny.

(12,480 posts)I had the book read it up until half a chapter in the end because the pages were gone. Been looking for the book ever since. But I saw the movie a few times.
