Pastor John Pavlovitz dissects Evangelical Trump support pathology

A friend on Facebook shocked me. I posted a message about the almost certainty that Trump won't be President in 2021. She said it was God's will for him to be president and that it is in the Bible. I woke up with that on my mind and recalled an interview I recently did with Pastor John Pavlovitz. We have people living in an alternate state of reality that I am concerned for when they wake up.+

I don't give a tinker's damn about the well being of the Trump cultists...personally I hope that they suffer from a depression so deep that they jump off bridges, step into traffic, and jump in front of trains...and even then it still wouldn't pay for their attempt to destroy this country!!!!

But here is why I care. To effect change, we need more than a 50+1 majority. A large percentage of these guys, Evangelicals, are indoctrinated by corrupt leaders (pastors, ministers, reverends that have sold out). We must find a way to cut the head off while giving those people who have been misled a place to land. You may be mentally strong but so many can fall on either side just by persuasion and not a real conviction.

members of a cult are on some level not responsible for that, that they are hypnotized, but that somewhere in there is a human being. And somehow we have to learn to live together

That does not mean I want anything to do with them in their current state. Nor does it mean that nothing needs to be done about them. Some people need to be restrained for the good - I should say for the survival - of society, and that fact is independent of any kind of guilt. I don't mean that every last one of them needs to be locked up (though some do, mostly the "leadership&quot . There are other ways to restrain people's behavior.

regarding the fundamentalists who ignore Jesus and concentrate on a god who, oddly enough, mirrors their fearful, harsh, cruel view of life, "How convenient!"

I want some one to tell me how a mere mortal human knows what the all seeing man in the sky wants. I hear this BS that fake christian folks say that it is gods will for this or that. Did the cloud guy send them a text, or an email, or give them a tip in a fortune cookie. Just how does this work. Lou Dobbs seems to be the new all knowing guy maybe he should tell us. I'm 70 years old and I've heard this since I can remember. However, no one has provided an intelligent answer. I think it's good will that no one knows the answer and they are talking out their ass. If you know pls tell us.
