Always wonder if his death was a portent of some type since the World has gone to absolute shit since. But, more likely it's just the hounding progression of Nixonism, then Reaganism, then Bushism and Teapartyism to Trumpism. We're destroying the planet that sustains us and he (Trump) is literally destroying our country.

Times were so much better when he (Bowie) was alive but our slide to extinction started well before that.

that a treatment or cure could be found. I always expected he'd live till his 90s but no such luck. Devastated that he left us so soon.

He'd be SO proud of her now. He's likely destined to be incredibly good at whatever she chooses and has obvious artistic talent of her Dad and the matchless beauty of her Mom.

A night club in Elizabeth Bay, Sydney, 1988. A waiter approached him with a polaroid camera - "Sir could I have a photograph". A look of resigned distaste passed over his face, as he started to get up so the photo would not include his companions, which turned to delight when the waiter said - "Oh I'm sorry, Sir, I meant a photograph of me", offering him the camera. David took two photos. A good time was had by all.

I'm living in Sydney at the moment - it's a bit like that, a bit New Yorky. People recognize celebrities but respect their privacy. Katie Perry walked up the main drag without being pestered.

Mostly without being pestered. Paparazzi did manage photos of them and Lexi but they seemed to be mostly left alone.

Were you on his website in the 1990s-2000s?

Sometimes The Sailor stepped in to chat. There was a hysterical satire of Mahir Cağrı I remember, with David in all those viral photos. and captions like "I like sex. I have more sex than anyone" "I have best doctors" ending with. "I don't invite you here. New York, too many people already".

He was very active there as "Sailor". I still have some of those old chat logs. Those were some days!

I remember David Bowie Worlds (?) it was sort of a second-life for DB fans. Virtual worlds - not sure I'm remembering the name correctly. Quite interesting.

There is still a website and message boards but without him...it's just not the same.

There are some books from the 2000 and 2001 websites with artwork and some of the messageboard posts - including from "Sailor", poems and a special 9-11 section when everyone in the politics & religion section stopped fighting and everyone stood behind Americans who had been attacked. If you want more info about them, PM me and I'll send it along.

--the ones on the official messageboard that is.

Only a few exist from before that time, mostly in the books someone self-published (LuLu) back then.
