(71,611 posts)It's the face of a pathological narcissist ... just like the 'frat boy spit-baller' smirk of George Dumbya back in 2000. The self-satisfied, self-absorbed look of a clueless adolescent sociopath.

Don't you think he was trying to lose? I mean can anyone be as stupid to say such things, and then expect to be elected.

(2,603 posts)I just went over to freepland to see what their buzz was and they said he sounded "presidential". So I guess that is who Mittens is trying to appeal to.
LongTomH
(8,636 posts)That we've sunk so low as to be saddled with a dumbass presidential candidate, who has to appeal to the dumbest fucks in Dumbfuckistan to even come close to getting elected!
I thought that wouldn't be possible

(6,785 posts)now I think he's just that ignorant.
He's been sheltered by growing up in and living his entire life in an environment where absolutely no one dared to disagree with him or criticize him in any way, so he has no idea how to relate to people or give/receive criticism.

(685 posts)who's thinking to himself "this is THE MOMENT" where he seals it, almost too excited to keep himself composed. And the first half of that video clip, the start of his presser, he sounds wandering and frayed, like he doesn't even know the meaning of the words coming out of his mouth. That line, something like "...served during their lives...", WTF?

(2 posts)Almost every word he said he had to look down and read first. The few times he finished a sentence while looking up - he seemed so pleased with himself - like he did something so awesome - "They love me now for that I bet." The blank spot where the whole cerebral thing just tanked. He's a ridiculous person. To think he can be a president of a "camera club" is asking too much. This may be the "apocalypse" that 2012 is all about: The death throes of the last dinosaurs on Earth - the end of the Republicans. I almost (not) feel sorry for them.

I'm sure he was told this is a great idea from his advisers. More the pity that some good people are going to get attached to this trainwreck of a candidate.
Not the big money people, but interns and college grads who were looking to make a career in govt. Backing a loser is one thing. Backing a complete clusterf**k is a career ender.

Just got home from school and trying to catch up on all of this. Rmoney seems to be mentally challenged for sure I am glad to hear the media is calling him out on this and not caving in but of course this would be very hard to justify his remarks.

(297,795 posts)my news..reading these headlines! Wow, Chuck Todd?! Mark Halperin?! John McCain?!!
Sounds like Romney thought he saw an "opportunity" with his usual tone deaf viciousness, insensitive, hollow head and jumped face first into a big ol pile of self induced shite.
Thanks for the news, EarlG.

(20,219 posts)I'm always surprised when I see stuff from the MSM that is in the can with the corporate/RW/CONserve crap, because I read here and forget that most of the US gets the propaganda-----but thank god at least THIS is TOO disgusting for the FLying Monkeys Media to twist. Finally, maybe something of the truth will seep through the hurricane fencing.

- Insulted Londoners by questioning whether they could handle the Olympics. 'Cause he's the expert in Olympics, you see.
- Misidentified Russia as our greatest enemy
- Jumped into the issue with a Chinese dissident while it was in progress, apparently hoping to screw it up.
Now this. So eager to jump in Limbaugh's pocket he couldn't be bothered to have the slightest idea what was happening before trying to cram it into the "apologizing for America" box the rightwingers so treasure.
He's crossed a line here, actively injecting himself into things he doesn't understand, endangering relations, coming off as the smug, disinterested dilettante he is.
And what comes through the most is a complete lack of human empathy. He couldn't possibly care less about a murdered ambassador or a consulate under siege. He'd feed his mother to piranhas to score a point. I don't see any way to read this guy other than as an entitled, arrogant rich guy who thinks of everyone around him as a disposable employee.
Romney's soullessness is more apparent every day.
