NASA Remembers Neil Armstrong

Neil's coworkers at NASA offer touching tributes to Neil, the man and to his contributions in blazing a trail for others to follow.

The NASAtelevision channel on YouTube also carried this tribute to Neil's career:

Remember the advice Neil's family gave on how to honor him: "When you look up at the Moon, remember Neil and give him a wink."

...they had just preformed the first ever docking in space when one of their retro rockets stuck open sending them into a roll. Their first assumtion was that it was the Agena target vehicle causing it so they undocked. The loss of the extra mass increased their roll rate violently as the malfunction was in their own spacecraft. There was a danger of tunnel vision and blacking out If that had happened they would have died in orbit as there was no way to bring them down by remote. Neil activated the system designed to control reentry and managed to bring the spacecraft back under control and the rest of the mission was aborted and they splashed down off target in the South China Sea.

Dave Scott later went to the moon and discovered the famous Genesis Rock, a chunk of the moon's primal crust.
