I had a chat with my dentist today. I had a long-standing appointment for a check up this week, so we decided to reschedule. My dentist is "one of us" and she's very worried. She said that when people are anxious, they're less likely to change their minds about anything. Even before this devastating pandemic, I couldn't imagine how anyone could still support Trump. I couldn't imagine how anyone could have voted for this insufferable grifting clown to begin with, let alone after he's proved to be worse in every possible way than we could have anticipated...

It boggles my mind. My doctor is also "one of us" and she can't believe this failed businessman and fraud got elected. It really is worse than I could have imagined when I was shocked to learn he was president.

I was actually there for X-Rays on September 11, 2001. She had the TV in the room turned to CNN and I watched that second plane hitting the World Trade Center over and over.

And I was there on election day 2016, had necessary dental surgery after an abscess and voted on the way home. I crashed that night, fell asleep on the couch watching the returns on TV. I woke up at about 3am to see Trump and his entire bizarre extended family standing there - I thought I must be having a bad dream. And I sure wish it had been since what's gone on has turned into a nightmare for all of us.

These days, my dentist often turns on MSNBC when I'm there and I've even shared DU with her via my phone since she's very interested.

I couldn't believe it when Trump "won" the election. I was sick to my stomach and I cried. Your dentist sounds like an awesome person! Get her tuned into DU. She'll love it.

Ad someone asked me if I'd ever discussed that day with my dentist. I remember that it was kinda chaotic there at the time - she was on the phone trying to reach someone in the City (I'm in Upstate NY, my dentist is in Albany) and my mother was with me, we had planned to vote on the way home since it was primary day here - which never happened. So I did end up bringing up that experience with my dentist and that's how I found out she's "one of us," and these days I never leave there without discussing some political issue, especially during these dark days of Trump - even just today on the phone. She's as worried and upset as we are.

I am so glad she is "one of us." Worried and upset is the order of the day. I cannot comprehend how anyone is not worried and upset at this time. Stay safe. Peace always.

These days, it's tough to speak to anyone (limited as those opportunities are) without bringing up current events. The last time I had to get gas, I ended up discussing the repercussions of this nightmare pandemic with the personable kid who was working there. Obviously, business is way down, a lot fewer customers than usual, since even though gas prices are way down, no one is going anywhere.

Stay safe!

There would have been a lot of trickle-down from a trump sized "ME, ME, ME!"
