It's good to remind ourselves how much we don't know about the nature of viruses. Science and scientific study take time and resources, but the benefits of that work will be spread among all of humanity. Remember that the next time Chump cuts funding to any of our worthwhile research programs.

Aside from some minor errors - I think that he said that Robert Koch was a chemist (that was Pasteur). Koch was a physician. Both were essential in the development of microbiology.

The conclusion that we, as scientists (and all humans) should not be dogmatic to the point of ignoring evidence is correct. As my PhD mentor/major professor said: "The data are the data. You have to try to understand what they mean. Design and run an experiment that will reveal that information." I have done my best to follow that advice for the last 40+ years of my career as a microbiologist.
