(5,954 posts)Get used to it, right wing crackpots. If you're shocked by the contrast, it's not because the media has a left wing bias and deliberately goes after right wing candidates. It's because journalists have been intimidated by the right wing noise machine for the last 30 years, and have gone soft ball on right wing politicians. Ask Bill Clinton about what it's like to get questions from reporters.

No, the media isn't responsible for Mitt's gigantic gaffes. He'd doing it all by his lonesome. Reporters are just trying to keep up with all the lies.

Campaigns move at a fast pace. The reporters will get a very brief time with the candidate. If one reporter gets known as one who suck up all the time with softballs, that is bad for everybody.
If Romney gave straight answers, then there would be no reason to coordinate in this fashion. This is a real indictment of Romney that reporters have to plan a whole strategy to get a straight answer out of him.
This also provides even more insight into that photo that was snapped as Romney walked off the stage. Romney had the "Nailed it" smirk on his face, and every reporter seemed to be thinking "He just said what?" Now we know they had engaged in a serious discussion before Romney entered the room trying to anticipate what any reasonable candidate might say and how they would follow-up. But then Romney came out with complete garbage, leaving them all stunned. I bet they didn't have a strategy for that.

(45,984 posts)FoxNews -- just to get this straight -- is part of the Romney campaign. What else should we call the propaganda arm of the far right?
Hardly a stray fact was allowed into that segment. Obama was derelict in duty? Really? How? The press corps was "conspiring" to nail Romney with "gotcha" questions. "Didn't you jump the gun?" is not a gotcha question when the fact show that Mr. Romney released a statement full of factual errors and characterized the communique from the Cairo embassy as being in response to rioting that had not yet taken place. It should surprise anyone that journalists "collaborate" with the asking of questions to be given to a subject determined not to answer them.
As conspiracy theories go, Ms. Malkin's offering ranks up there with Limbaugh's assertion that Al Qaida "turned over" Osama to make the president look good.
The best thing to do with this is ignore it. The only people who are going to believe this nonsense are the ones who watch Fox 24/7, and they're hopelessly misinformed anyway because the watch FoxNews 27/7, except when they're listening to Rush Limbaugh. The right wing media has been preaching to the choir for years. Every time Mitt opens his mouth, every time a Republican congressman pretends he's a doctor and tell us about gynecology, every time Ms. Malkin breathes fire and tells us Obama is a terrorist sympathizer or Kerry faked his wounds in Vietnam, that choir just get smaller.
Hopefully, by election night, it will have disappeared.

(22 posts)It's the one question everyone wanted answered from Romney. When Romney interjected himself, made this statement, and then held a mini-PC, what did they expect?

(3,544 posts)This is absurd. Let me see here. I guess you could compare it to doing an interview for a job. You only have one shot to sell yourself, right? Isn't is customary to be prepared before the interview? Research the company, and person you are interviewing with? (linkedin is a great tool). I personally have a one sheet questionnaire I take with me to all my interviews. As the interview is winding down, the interviewer normally asks, Do you have any questions? I review my sheet quickly and ask questions about items that were not discussed during the interview. I think it's called being prepared, and it shows you have interest in the company. I don't see much of a difference here. You only have 1 shot at Romney. Don't you want to be prepared?
And then Gretchen lies about "I've never scribed to that before?". Then how did she get where she's at? These idiots at FAUX news disgust me to no end. Thus the reason why I never watch them. Not fair, and definitely not balanced!!! They're idiots
