when are the repugs cowards in Congress going to grow a spine to have their Barry Goldwater/Howard Baker moment and go to the White House and tell trump it's time for him to go?

I had no use for Goldwater or for Baker, but, even so, as much as I disagreed with them, I believe they sincerely loved their country.

The current batch of Republicans have made it unmistakably clear that they hate their country although they are very fond of the Confederacy which their country defeated.

as long as he doesn't get infected. And he doesn't care about the numbers of cases UNLESS it somehow means he won't be re-elected. Then he cares.

It could disappear "at some point." But nothing without leaving a wake of perhaps up to 250,000 deaths and a destroyed economy.

The thing is, when you're a sociopath, the consequences to anyone other than yourself are irrelevant.

the white flag has been waived. All that's left is how many people Covid will kill before Covid takes mercy.

There can’t be NEW cases.

It would fit with his idiotic “if we didn’t test, no one would have it” philosophy.

The virus will disappear.
The economy will recover and then grow to new heights.
I will become King of the World!

And I say . . . . his pronouncements sound better if you change one word:

"I think we're going to be very good with the TRUMP MAFIA. I think that, at some point, that's going to sort of disappear, I hope."

Voters of the USA, make it so!

Then we can concentrate on more important things, like getting the thug element out of the police force, developing effective climate change solutions, getting EPA regulations back on track, etc etc.

19. The U.S. daily new cases more than doubled (2.22X) in the past 23 days (7 day moving average)

Daily New Cases: 7 day average (click this checkbox just below the graph)
June 9: 21,282
July 2: 47,243
+122% increase (2.22 Fold)
yup. In just 23 days.

Another grim daily new cases 7 day moving average statistic:
April 10: 32,464 - previous pre-June pandemic highpoint
July 2: 47,243
+46% increase over the April 10 peak

June 25 was the date when the April 10 peak was first surpassed. (Just a week ago!)

Thanks for your graphic -- it clearly shows the three key pertinent points about the daily new cases --

*That we're way up from the early-mid-June bottom
*That we've completely passed the previous era's peak of April 10
*That we're worse off than we've ever been, by far

(stolen )

Ever since about mid-April until mid-June, the media has been telling us the new cases have been going down in the U.S. overall, and they've been right. So we can relax and reopen, like Reagan's "Morning in America" (wrong).

Well, in just the last 3 weeks, cases have rebounded, and gone way past the old April 10 peak.
